Indiana Conservation Tillage Initiative

This is a cooperative effort between the Indiana Conservation Partnership, Agriculture Industry and Indiana farmers.  The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)  received initial funding from an EPA Section 319 grant through Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM). This funding was used to hire a Conservation Tillage Coordinator.

The goal of the group is to expand the adoption of No-Till and other high residue farming methods by building a network of Farmers and Ag Professionals to share the technology of No-Till cropping systems.

Objectives:

  • Identify technical and social barriers to adoption
  • Create a network among farmers and agriculture professionals to increase no-till technology transfer
  • Provide training and technical information, to farmers and other ac professionals, in the latest technology which will take these cropping systems to new highs in profitability
